grape-juiceIsrael – The Chief Rabbinate of Israel Kashrus Enforcement Division in its latest alert (24 Sivan 5711/June 26, 2011) issues a warning pertaining to grape juice sold under the “Yesh” label bearing a hashgacha from Chug Chatam Sofer Bnei Brak and the OU (for Pesach).

The Chatam Sofer hechsher reports the kashrus claim is simply fraudulent, adding it has never given kashrus to the product. The ShuferSal supermarket chain investigated as well, reporting it never ordered such a product, which was never manufactured legitimately for the nationwide franchise. As such, it is not sold in its stores. Shoppers are requested to provide information regarding this product if found on store shelves.

ShuferSal adds that the legitimate bottles of “Yesh” grape juice marketed by the company bears a hashgacha from both the Jerusalem Rabbinate and Badatz Eida Chareidis.
