A bomb threat forced American Airlines Flight 67 to be evacuated today at Kennedy International Airport. At around 12:50 p.m., passengers and crew were evacuated from the flight, which originated in Barcelona.

Authorities were “sweeping” the aircraft after the threat had been “telephoned in,” according to Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman,Joseph Pentangelo.

“It never seemed rushed; it never seemed panicked; it was fairly orderly,” said passenger Teresa Dietrich. She admitted it was a “little nerve-racking, because you’re not quite sure exactly what’s going on.”

Dietrich estimates that over 100 passengers were evacuated. Within 15 minutes of disembarking, passengers boarded buses to leave the area.
