boro-park-fireBrooklyn – A two-alarm fire that injured three people in Boro Park took more than an hour to get under control Friday evening, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out on the top floor of a six-story apartment building at 4812 14th Ave. around 8:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.

A second alarm was called 18 minutes later and the fire was declared under control just after 9:30 p.m., officials said.

Three civilians suffered monor injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the FDNY.

  1. Who were the tennants of the apartment? What type of people? Was it Shabbos licht that fell to the table because a child climbed up onto it?
    Does anybody know?

  2. The fire started in apartment 6J which was occupied by a single 76 year old man. It was caused by leaving unattended shabbos candles burning.

  3. It says the cause is under investigation.

    What about the robbery on the same block a few hours before (Shomrim caught people nearby but no details are available). Does anyone know about that?
