Boro Park: Boy Critical After Accident, Helmet Saved His Life

An eleven-year-old boy who was hit by a car early this morning as he was riding his bike to school at Dahill and Cortelyou Roads in Boro Park, Brooklyn, remains in critical condition at Maimonides Medical Center.

Matzav.com obtained the photo above, which shows the boy’s helmet broken to pieces after the accident.

Helmets are designed to break on impact to absorb the shock and protect a cyclist’s head. In this case, Hatzolah member say that the helmet likely saved the child’s life.
