What’s the penalty for causing the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history?
BP plead guilty to 11 felony counts and agreed to pay $4.5 billion in damages for the 2010 Gulf oil spill. Two BP employees will also face manslaughter charges for the deaths of 11 people in the Deepwater Horizon explosion.
