dani dayanPresident of the Israeli Cultural Association of Brazil (ACIB), Hermano Wrobel, spoke out this week against the Brazilian government’s decision to reject Danny Dayan’s nomination as Israel’s ambassador to Brazil.

Dayan’s rejection has sparked a public relations debacle after rumors began to circulate that the decision was attributed to his former role as Head of the Judea and Samaria Council. Dayan is originally from Argentina and served as the head of the Council of Judea and Samaria for five years.

In an interview with Tazpit Press Service (TPS), Wrobel denounced the decision and said that the entities representing Jews in Brazil, both at the confederation level and regional institutions have stated unequivocally that they are against the government’s decision. “We are all unanimous in repudiating this attitude,” he said.
