A guest on Fox News over the weekend said Birmingham, England, is “totally Muslim” and off limits to non-Muslims.
Prime Minister David Cameron said, in perfect British form, “When I heard this, frankly, I choked on my porridge and I thought it must be April Fool’s Day. This guy’s clearly a complete idiot.”
Steve Emerson, the self-proclaimed terrorism expert who said this on Fox News, has since apologized. [See the initial video here.]
Birmingham does have a large Muslim community, but it only makes up about a quarter of the total population. By comparison, 65 percent identify as Christian or non-religious. Read more at The Guardian.

The BBC has an interesting post on this. Evidently the “expert” in question has never been to Birmingham (UK). Question: If he knew it was incorrect, why did he say it in the first place?
