Apparently in an attempt to curry favor with the incoming Trump administration, British foreign secretary Boris Johnson yesterday blocked the EU foreign affairs council from adopting a resolution supporting a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Haaretz reports.

The resolution emerged from a 70-country conference in Paris the day before, in which Johnson was absent and from which the UK dissented. As a result, no resolution is expected to pass since unanimous consent is required under the cumbersome EU rules. But the group’s foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, warned Trump against taking unilateral actions such as moving the embassy to Yerushalayim. “We will for sure not move our delegation. That is in Tel Aviv,” he said.

  1. who cares where his delegation is? they are not israel nor are they interested in anything that benefits israel, so let them stay wherever they want; they are of no consequence
