City University of New York’s (CUNY) Brooklyn College ranks first among the “Top 10 Schools Supporting Terrorists,” according to a conservative campus watchdog group which published a new list on Wednesday.

Other schools listed in the David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC) report include San Diego State University, San Francisco State University, Tufts University, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UCLA, University of Chicago, University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Vassar College.

In expounding on the list, David Horowitz, the founder and head of DHFC, told The Algemeiner that much of the particularly virulent radical anti-Israel activity on these campuses is a product of the group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) which he described as “a front for Hamas, whose sole purpose is to spread terrorist propaganda against of Israel.” Horowitz said he plans on demanding of university presidents to cease the “outrageous practice” of recognizing and funding it.

Horowitz called his group’s establishing of the connection between SJP and the terrorist organization that rules the Gaza Strip “the missing piece of the battle against campus forces seeking the destruction of the Jewish state and promoting antisemitic canards against Jewish students.”

In addition to focusing on SJP, the report makes special mention of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), which — based on Congressional testimony — also acts as a “Hamas front” and “funnels large sums of money and…material assistance to SJP…for the purpose of promoting Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns on American campuses.”

The campus activity in which these groups engage, according to the report, includes: calling for violence against Jews and Israelis; support and sympathy for terrorism; organizing BDS activity on campus, including “Apartheid Week” events; disrupting and demonstrating — sometimes violently — against pro-Israel events and speakers; and antisemitic activity and rhetoric, leading to an increasingly hostile campus climate for Jewish students.

SJP is considered one of the most popular and active anti-Israel groups on American college campuses. According to one campus watchdog, its presence at universities significantly contributes to the “increase in actions which directly harm or threaten Jewish students.”

The release of the DHFC’s ranking is part of an initiative aimed at combating campus extremism. As The Algemeiner reported, the organization also launched a poster campaign at UCLA to “out” members of SJP and other BDS sympathizers.

  1. amazing!! brooklyn college, in my day, was a ‘jewish’ school with sections of the cafeteria near washing fountains known to be the place for frum students. i remember once, a non-jewish teacher of advanced math came into the classroom, looked around at her students and asked: are there any jewish holidays this semester? because, if so, i’m going to cancel class that day
