attackerBrooklyn, NY – Two Jewish girls were sitting on a bench on Eastern Parkway and Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, this past Sunday when a male black approached them, roughed them up, and assaulted them.

A Crown Heights resident who witnessed the assault immediately pulled out his phone and dialed 911. He then confronted the perp and took a picture of him. The perp started to flee and the witness pursued after him on foot and flagged down a police car occupied  by two police officers.

The witness pointed out the perp he was chasing and said, “I just saw this man assault two females.”

The officers replied, “Do you have a complainant?”

Instead of detaining the suspect, the suspect fled.

20 minutes later, after confirming from the victims directly, the officers put out a description over the police radio. The suspect was gone.

The victims filed a police report, where the incident was categorized as harassment, not assault.

The police officers who were originally flagged down were driving RMP 4527 and were later described as Officer Francis, Shield number #20199, and Officer Clark, Shield number #28472 from the 77th Precinct.
