Brown’s Lawyer: Process Was a Sham

The lawyer for Michael Brown’s family slammed a grand jury’s failure to indict Police Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of the unarmed teen and insinuated prosecution bias.

“We object as publicly and loudly as we can. This process is broken,” Benjamin Crump told a crowd in Ferguson, Missouri, on Tuesday.

“Let’s be honest, we have a local prosecutor who has a symbiotic relationship with the local police who sit on judgment whether to indict the police when they brutalize or kill a young person from our community.”

Crump accused the prosecution of failing to cross-examine Wilson properly, saying, “a first-year law student would have done a better job,” and added that he was not surprised by the ruling. “We could foresee what the outcome was going to be,” he said. “That’s exactly what occurred last night, but it’s awfully troubling.”

Al Sharpton also spoke and urged residents to remain calm. “There’s another way other than to explode,” he told the crowd. “After you burn something down, then what? That doesn’t get us justice. We need to show a better way.” Read more at ABC News.

  1. Why, Sir, was it a sham? Is it only justice if there’s a conviction? What about the process was a sham??
    I’ll tell you!
Michael Brown, grand larceny criminal, attacked an officer, reached for his s er service revolver and was eliminated by that very same revolver. The sham is how your people view the laws of this country. The sham is the residual behavior of the community who, as you, doesn’t want to be confused by the facts!
You’re almost right! It’s not a sham but a shame!

  2. Remember the Rodney King Story in Los Angeles when a drugged out alcoholic was driving at speeds that were dangerous and he resisted arrest they almost burned down Los Angeles at that time.

  3. ‘justice’ means ‘do what I want’. justice, I guess, means loot and burn down the businesses in the very community in which you live. and you know what? your president seems to agree. by voting him in for a second term, this country got what it deserves

  4. I have an idea. let’s put the ‘protesters’ to work cleaning up the mess they made. let them repair the dsamage to the places of business, painting, carpentry, installing sheves, replacing windows. or, make them go to WORK (!!!) and use the money they earn at mini8mum wage to pay for the damages. let their names be attached to their social security records for as long as it takes. I believe if you hit these thugs in their pockets, there will be less thuggary
