DREADFUL: Bus Falls into Wadi Near Maaleh Levonah, Killing Two, Injuring Seven (Videos, Photos)

Updated: An Egged bus has fallen into a wadi near Maaleh Levonah in the Shomron early Friday morning.

The bus, Egged Bus 461, reported fell some 70 meters into the wadi off of the old Highway 60, leaving two dead – both males, ages 23 and 37 – and injuring seven. Many passengers were trapped and had to be extricated.

The incident occurred at about 1 a.m.

Paramedics at the scene reported that trapped passengers were spread apart in a very large radius.

The weather made the rescue effort very challenging. Rescue personnel were assisted by choppers in the sky as they labored to track down the passengers and bring them to safety.

The road on which the tragic accident occurred is a windy and treacherous one.

Magen David Adom evacuated some of the injured to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikva, Sheba Hospital at Tel Hashomer, and Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim.

Michael Chai Cohen, a volunteer from United Hatzalah, said that reaching the overturned bus proved to be very difficult.

(ז) עַתָּה יָדַעְתִּי כִּי הוֹשִׁיעַ יְיָ מְשִׁיחוֹ יַעֲנֵהוּ מִשְּׁמֵי קָדְשׁוֹ בִּגְבֻרוֹת יֵשַׁע יְמִינוֹ:
(ח) אֵלֶּה בָרֶכֶב וְאֵלֶּה בַסּוּסִים וַאֲנַחְנוּ בְּשֵׁם יְיָ אֱלֹהינוּ נַזְכִּיר:
(ט) הֵמָּה כָּרְעוּ וְנָפָלוּ וַאֲנַחְנוּ קַּמְנוּ וַנִּיתְעוֹדָד:
(י) יְיָ הוֹשִׁיעָה הַמֶּלֶךְ יַעֲנֵנוּ בְיוֹם קָרְאֵנוּ:
