Yidden around the globe remain intense and nervous over the condition of Maran Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Yerushalayim, wondering about his exact condition.
Rav Elyashiv is in stable but very serious condition, as his heart is working at minimal capacity, his kidneys are not functioning, and other bodily organs are working minimally. Rav Elyashiv’s age makes the situation that much more grave.
Yesterday, following the efforts by doctors to revive Rav Elyashiv, MK Yaakov “Ketzaleh” Katz publically asked in the Knesset for all to daven for Rav Elyashiv.
We are told that two cardiac specialists from the United States have flown to Eretz Yisroel and are en route to Shaarei Tzedek to see what expertise they can share in addressing Rav Elyashiv’s condition.
All are asked to daven for Rav Yosef Shalom ben Chaya Musha.

I think when actually davening you are supposed to leave off the “Rav” part as it’s inappropriate when talking to Hashem to use such a word.

Yes, the title “Rav” should be left out, not because it is inappropriate, but in order that his status as a Rav attract less scrutiny in Heaven. Don’t ask me to explain it. But that is what I was taught.
