Carly FiorinaCarly Fiorina told Yahoo News on Monday that she supports waterboarding suspected terrorists despite an in-depth Senate report showing torture produced little actionable intelligence.

“I believe that all of the evidence is very clear—that waterboarding was used in a very small handful of cases [and] was supervised by medical personnel in every one of those cases,” the Republican presidential candidate said. “And I also believe that waterboarding was used when there was no other way to get information that was necessary.”

Fiorina in 2007, as part of a CIA advisory board, suggested torture apologist Jose Rodriquez should “be a spokesman for the agency.” Rodriguez ordered the destruction of videotapes of waterboarding but was not charged. Read more at Yahoo News.

This is where conservatives are correct, that the private sector is superior to the public sector.

Any businessman who ignores facts soon finds his business out of business — or himself out of a job, fired by the directors. That is in fact what happened to Fiorina after the directors could no longer ignore the fact that her incompetence resulted in the shareholder owners losing half their investment. But for government officials there are no directors to fire the leader until the next election. Heaven help us should someone like Fiorina ever get power.
