Jerusalem Post senior contributing editor Caroline Glick will not be on the Likud list for Knesset, party sources said Wednesday, the JPost reports.
Glick was among several candidates Netanyahu was considering for two slots reserved for candidates of the prime minister’s choosing.
“The decision was never about me,” Glick said. “It was about the prime minister trying to put together a list he thinks will create the widest possible support for the Likud in the election.”
Glick praised Netanyahu and called him the best leader Israel has to face its current challenges.
The Post reports that on January 24, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s associates said he was considering offering Caroline Glick a slot reserved for a candidate of his choosing on the Likud candidates list. It followed his January 7 appeal to the public, via Facebook, to suggest candidates for the 11th and 23rd spots on the Likud candidates list.
