The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 80,000 people in the United States died of the flu and its complications last winter, the most in at least four decades, according to the Associated Press.

“I’d like to see more people get vaccinated,” CDC Director Robert Redfield told the AP in an interview. “We lost 80,000 people last year to the flu.”

The number of deaths last winter is higher than any flu season going back to 1976-1977, before which there is not easily available data, according to the AP.

  1. A CDC doctor has warned last year’s disastrous flu shot may be responsible for the deadly flu epidemic sweeping the country.
“Some of the patients I’ve administered the flu shot to this year have died,” the doctor said, adding “I don’t care who you are, this scares the crap out of me.”
“We have seen people dying across the country of the flu, and one thing nearly all of them have in common is they got the flu shot.”

  2. Of course the CDC doesn’t state whether the 80k people had the flu shot taken or not. Very inaccurate and misleading article.

  3. Instead of vaccinating the entire nation why not start by improving the nations diet. Healthier, more effective and more sustainable than injecting yourself dont you think…

  4. where do they get that number from anyway??? who says 80,000 died from the flu?? would love to see the breakdown of that “NUMBER”
    how many from pneumonia?
    how many with preexisting conditions?
    how old were they?
did they get the flu shot??????
