Chacham Ovadia Yosef Returns Home from Hospital

Less than a week after undergoing a multi-hour surgery at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital after fracturing his lower vertebrae and suffering from intense back pain, Chacham Ovadia Yosef was discharged this morning from the medical center, returning to his home in Har Nof, where he will continue to rest and recuperate. Chacham Ovadiah arrived at his home at 45 Rechov Hakablan at about 9 a.m.

The surgery on Monday was deemed a success to the great relief of Yidden across the globe. There was grave concern in light of Chacham Ovadiah’s age and the decision of the surgeons to use general anesthesia on the nonagenarian gaon.

Three screws were inserted into his spine during the operation, which, sources say, featured the participation of a world-renowned physician brought to Israel for the procedure.

One month ago, Chacham Ovadia slipped in his house, after which he began suffering from severe pain, leading to last week’s surgery.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Ovadiah ben Georgia l’refuah shleimah.
