Chareidi Parties May Not Partner With Right-Wing

utjWhile polls show the new Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu faction leading the Knesset race and political analysts state that Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu will find it easy to form a coalition when the election is over, the chareidi parties may not play along.

According to sources with Shas and Yahadut Hatorah (UTJ), they might not join the political right parties as they have in the past due to unhappiness with their treatment by Netanyahu of late, especially during his most recent term, when Likud repeatedly failed to stand with the chareidi community on a variety of issues.

These include the Emmanuel prisoners matter, the alleged “discrimination against women” – a libel spread by the secular Israeli establishment and media, and with regard to governmental financial aid.

The chareidi parties feel that the Likud fueled the fire of anti-chareidism with respect to the Tal Law and more.

Yisrael Beiteinu’s chief, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, also scares those in the chareidi parties. Lieberman has himself beein outspoken against Shas’ participation in the government coalition, stating that the government must be secular. Now that Lieberman has joined Netanyahu, their new party, Likud Beiteinu, may not be a suitable choice for the chareidi parties.

  1. Quite a shock the welcome that the Secular Parties of Lapid, Barak and Shelly will give to the religious parties. The secular hatred is fueled by those parties and not by Likud and Beitanu…

  2. UTJ is split with a fight right now and may lose seats. It is in no position to threaten anyone. All of this is just political posturing . It might happen one day that the government won’t want the chareidim in the coalition and that will change a lot of things. Financial support for long term learners and non participation in thea army won’t continue as it is for much longer. That is just the stark truth.

  3. will there EVER be achdus among them & klal yisroel?

how can we expect mashiach without achdus (unity)? the world cannot exist without it & Hashems presense (i.e. the bais hamikdosh)cannot rest among klal yisroel without achhdus & shalom among us as a nation

may klal yisroel remove their sinas chinam from one another ASAP & come to achdus, so mashiach can come
