rav-yisroel-hagerChassidim of Vizhnitz Bnei Brak will be celebrating the 68th birthday of their Rebbe, Rav Yisroel Hager of Vizhnitz, tonight. Rav Yisroel was born in 1945, three years before the creation of the State of Israel.

On the occasion of the birthday, bochurim will go to daven at the kevorim of the admorim of Vizhnitz and yungeleit and bnei yeshiva of Vizhnitz will learn special sedorim as a zechus for the Rebbe.

The Vizhnitzer Chassidim have a kabbolah from the Imrei Chaim and the Rebbe’s father, the Yeshuas Moshe, not to say Tachanun on the birthday.

The Rebbe himself is currently in Tzefas. Tomorrow morning, after Shacahris, he will hold a small tish at the home of Reb Yisroel Baruch Wieder, and then return in the evening to his home in Bnei Brak.

Wednesday night, the Rebbe is scheduled to fly to Zurich, Switzerland, on behalf of Igud Mosdos Vizhnitz, spending Shabbos there and attending a dinner on Motzoei Shabbos. He will return to Eretz Yisroel next Thursday.

The Rebbe’s father, the Yeshuas Moshe, used to go every year to Switzerland, but not to Zurich, as he didn’t want to burden people with having to join his tefillos or tishen. Instead, he stayed in one of the mountain resort areas, where he held a small minyan.
