It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Chazzan Saul Klausner of Lawrence, NY, who was found at the bottom of the pool at about 5 p.m. on Erev Shabbos at Vacation Village in Loch Sheldrake, NY.
Hatzolah responded to an emergency call after a girl discovered Mr. Klausner in the pool. Efforts at resuscitation by Hatzolah were followed by Mr. Klausner being taken to the Loch Sheldrake Fire Station, from where he was taken to St. Francis hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Mr. Klausner was born in Brooklyn in 1930. His father, Aaron Klausner, came from Krynica, Poland, while his mother came from Romania.
Mr. Klausner was 83. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Klausner, and their two children.
The levaya will be held tomorrow, at 11:45 a.m. at Boulevard-Riverside Chapel, located at 1450 Broadway in Hewlett, NY.
