A chosson who is about to get married and who visited his grandmother’s kever at the cemetery on Har Hazeisim in Yerushalayim today was attacked and pelted with rocks.
The chosson said that a mob made up of young local Arabs threw stones at him and his friend who accompanied him and poured paint on their vehicle. The two managed to drive off and escaped with only minor injuries.
The two were lightly injured and were taken to the Shaare Tzedek Hospital in Yerushalayim. Luckily, they were released in time so the chosson could make his wedding. Police are investigating the incident.
Jews who visit Har Hazeisim have been regularly targeted by Arabs for quite some time now.
A group of U.S. law enforcement professionals were recently witnesses to a rock attack on two Jewish men who came to visit the cemetery. The two men had been attacked by dozens of Arab youths as they were driving up to the cemetery.
United States Democratic Congressmen Elliot Engel and Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents Malcolm Hoenlein were recently attacked by Arab rock throwers as they visited the cemetery on Har Hazeisim.
Last week over 150 people gathered at the Lincoln Park Jewish Center in Yonkers, New York, for an evening of discussions about the security threat on Har Hazeisim.
MK Aryeh Eldad criticized Jerusalem District Commander Niso Shaham on Wednesday for his failure to take action over the continued Arab violence on Har Hazeisim.
“Acts of lynching take place every day on the Mount of Olives,” said Eldad. “Today once again, a Jew on his wedding day was wounded by stones and his car was smashed. A few days ago torched a vehicle was torched, but the police fails to defend Jews on the Mount of Olives.”

They were more concerned in building the “rekevet ha koala”(cursed train, play on words of hakala-easy,)to make it easier for the Arabs to get all over Yerushalayim then to protect Jews from Arabs.
We are not permitted to put ourselves in a dangerous situation. Har Hazeisim is not a safe place. We don’t go to Ramallah either.

For all the people saying that it’s dangerous and not safe to go there, I would like to tell you that from beginning of chanuka till after Purim I was part of a kollel which said the whole Sefer tehillim every day by the tziyun of the ohr hachaim ztzl and not one single time we had any trouble at whole…. Im not saying that you should go there I’m just telling you from personal experience that it’s not as bad as it sounds

The attacks on Har Hazaisim are a daily occurence. Despite repeated calls for an increased police presence, it appears that while attacks are increasing in frequency, Israel is hesitant to exercise her sovereignty in the area.

accidents on roads are a daily occurence .despite police on the road and despite all human efforts. the gedolim still go to har hazeisim despite it’s situation, so which da’as torah are you representing. i personally know that the Mashgiach Rav Don Segal Shlit”a was there resently. also the gedolim recently niftar know the situation there and still wanted to be buried there knowing that jews will visit them.
