Christie Advocates Medical Marijuana for Minors

christieOn Friday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signaled he would sign a bill to ease children’s access to medical marijuana if it were changed to ensure that edible cannabis would only be available to qualified minors with a prescription.

The bill would remove the current limit on the number of strains dispensaries can provide, as advocates say different strains can have different effects.

“Today,” Christie said, “I am making common sense recommendations to this legislature.” Not so common-sense was another event that followed the announcement. Later that night, Christie vetoed abill that would ban a powerful form of assault weapon–a ban he initially advocated. Read more at Los Angeles Times.
