christieFederal prosecutors in New Jersey have subpoenaed Gov. Chris Christie’s re-election campaign, sources close to the matter tell The Wall Street Journal.

U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman sent the subpoenas asking for specific documents related to government meetings that were canceled after Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop refused to endorse Christie.

Last year, Fulop, a Democrat, accused the governor and senior cabinet officials of canceling meetings with him after he made it clear he would not endorse Christie’s 2013 campaign.

The subpoenas indicate that the federal government may be expanding its investigation of Bridgegate specifically beyond the George Washington Bridge lane closures that caused five days of gridlock traffic in Fort Lee, New Jersey, in September 2013. Read more at The Wall Street Journal.
