chris-christieLike a lot of Republicans, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie thinks predictions of doom because of federal spending cuts are overblown.

The governor expects little impact in New Jersey.

“I’m not concerned tat the federal government is cutting one penny out of a dollar of federal spending,” he said. “I’m not concerned about things that I have no evidence to be concerned about.”

He said the only thing that concerns him is “how broken and dysfunctional Washington, D.C. is.”

The brash governor had a simple message to leaders in Washington when it comes to the sequester.

“Fix it!” he said Monday. “You get everybody in the room and you fix it and you don’t let them leave until you fix it.”

“I don’t have the first damn idea of what they’re doing down there,” he said. “We have big problems in this country to fix and we’re not dealing with it.”

Christie said he feels this just shows the government’s misplaced priorities.

“The worst thing about sequester, in my view, is that they’re not spending any time talking about entitlement spending,” he said.

$85 billion in across the board cuts are being enacted because leaders in Washington were unable to come to an agreement by midnight Friday.

Some federal workers, however, said any furloughs would be devastating.

  1. He is correct. We are living in times of true numeric advances and I think that we will see that the sequester is a starting point for future revisions.

  2. Not as big as a dozen donuts, 12-piece bucket of KFC, a diet Coke, X-large Ray’s double cheese and sausage pie, Big Mac, small fries, and a salad.

  3. Christie Says “Sequester Cuts Are No Big Deal……just a few less krispy kreme donuts for me to fress!”
