As the “Bridgegate” scandal goes back to court just days before the New Hampshire primary, Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie has allegedly refused to release relevant emails dating from the week of September 2013.

Attorneys for former aides to the New Jersey governor said in a court filing that Christie’s office had withheld “critical” evidence, including at least 6,601 emails and documents from the time in which lanes on the George Washington Bridge were closed, causing days-long traffic congestion that paralyzed Fort Lee, New Jersey—allegedly a political payback against the town’s Democratic mayor.

Despite the allegations against him, Christie has repeatedly deflected by attacking Hillary Clinton’s private email server scandal, and defended himself by saying: “This was not a murder. This was a traffic jam.” Read more at The Guardian.
