hillary clintonDemocratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton on Wednesday weighed in on reports of a mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., saying the U.S. must work to end gun violence.

“I refuse to accept this as normal. We must take action to stop gun violence now,” she tweeted.

In recent weeks Clinton has seized on several mass shootings to call for stricter gun control measures, including a shooting at a community college in Oregon in early October and another at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado last week.

Her latest call for stricter measures on guns comes as authorities in California responded to reports of a 20-victim shooting, according to the local fire department. Police have confirmed multiple victims from the shooting.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), meanwhile, decried the frequency of gun violence across America.

“Mass shootings are becoming an almost-everyday occurrence in this country,” he tweeted. “This sickening and senseless gun violence must stop,” the Vermont lawmaker added.

Another Democratic candidate, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, also weighed into the San Bernardino shooting Wednesday.

“Horrifying news out of #SanBernardino. Enough is enough: it’s time to stand up to the @NRA and enact meaningful gun safety laws,” O’Malley tweeted.
