Several of President Trump’s top foreign-policy advisers would reportedly like to see Iraq removed from the White House’s list of Muslim-majority countries from which travel would be banned under a new executive order. According to CNN’s sources, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense James Mattis, and national security adviser H.R. McMaster requested the omission for diplomatic reasons, citing Iraq’s role in fighting ISIS in the region.

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly also reportedly supported removing Iraq from the list that previously also included Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. A revised version of the executive order is expected later this week after federal courts effectively squashed the initial one. Read more at CNN.
