helen-thomasHelen Thomas, the most senior – she turns 90 this summer – of White-House correspondents, has given up being a real reporter and instead spends her time spewing venom at America’s war on terror and/or anything Israel does. For example, during the 2008/09 Israeli battle with Hamas in Gaza, Thomas was interviewed by NPR and compared the IDF action to Nazi Germany

Just two days ago, Thomas berated Robert Gibbs for America’s initial reaction to the violence created by the Guerrilla Flotilla; she said Israel committed a deliberate massacre, international crime, and called Israel a terrorist state.

Rabbi David Nessenoff, an award winning film-maker, visited the White House for the Jewish Heritage Month Ceremonies. There, he had the chance to meet Helen Thomas and asked her about Israel.

Her response? Jews should go back to Germany and Poland.

Go back to Germany and Poland? Why, Ms. Thomas? You do remember the Holocaust right? Hey, you’re old enough to remember the Crusades.

There are some people who believe that any criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism. That belief is as ignorant as anti-Semitism itself. There is however, a great deal of crossover between hatred of Israel and hatred of the Jews. To find out what people really mean you need to examine the words they use.

Helen Thomas’ comparing of the IDF to Nazi Germany is nothing but an attempt to water-down the horror of the Holocaust, and to dehumanize Israel. And her advice to the Jews to get the hell out of Palestine, and go back to Poland and Germany is nothing short of anti-Semitism. If Thomas’ comments were directed toward any other group but the Jews, she would have been out of work a very long time ago. Maybe it’s time for Helen’s bosses to retire her.

  1. Helen is an old witch. Obama will have her in the white house corp because all the peoplle that the president surrpunds himself with these days are anti semites anyway.

  2. Wel, well. It seems that the Wicked Witch of the West (of Wizard of Oz fame) isn’t a fictional character after all. She both looks and acts the part to perfection.

  3. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! SHE SHOULD BE KICKED OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE RIGHT AWAY! THEY SHOULD TAKE AWAY HER
JOURNALISTIC CREDENTIALS! imagine a white guy saying all African Americans should go home to AFRICA … – we should not be silent abt this.

  4. The Drudge Report shows a picture of Thomas with President Obama ’s arm around her in the White House press
room, and the banner headline: “WH PRESS QUEEN: JEWS GET OUT OF ISRAEL, GO BACK TO POLAND!”

  5. Her face portrays it all!!!!!
The eyes being the window of the soul…check it out….vicious…comes to mind!!!!!

  6. Looks like Haman, and IS a Haman. Another one of those in the White House.

This does not relfect very well on Obama who is struggling to keep his name. Too bad, Mr. Pres., slowly, but surely your true colors are coming through!

  7. Her comments are very worth noting.
The age bias on these pages are unacceptable . “She’s old enough to remember the crusades”? What does that have to do with anything? She is a powerful figure and you all wish you get to ninety with your brains intact as much as hers are. In fact, if she weren’t a figure of intelligence and power you would not all be writing this vitriol.
Age has nothing to do with it. It is as wrong as deligitimizing her because she is female. (Note: I do not agree with her. I just want you who mocked her age to see your bias.)

  8. It’s not commonly known, but she’s an arab, that’s why she has always had such pro-arab/anti-semitic views. Both of her parents were immigrants from Lebanon, her father’s original last name was “Antonious”.

  9. This is an outrage – not a single word of this on ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN…..and why?

This type of cover-up happens all too often by the mainstream media. This is nothing short of collusion and needs to be dealt with harshly. How much other news-worthy news doesn’t get reported by these 4 organizations? Without illegal collusion how is it possible for 4 news organizations (time after time) all decide not to run with a story that might hurt their cause…I don’t see Fox or Drudge hiding from the truth…why are the others?

  10. Why is everyone so upset? She is merely confirming halacha, that esav sonei es yaakov. Do you want the goyim to love us? That will aparently uproot that halacha. So lets accept the yoke of exile and instraed of making demonstrations and waste time boycotting her over anti semitic rants, pray to the almighty for the speedy redemtion

  11. I need Naturei Karta help me with their contacts to broker this worthy shidduch between Helen Thomas, a isha chashuva, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian strongman. I won’t go wrong this time. I believe we will see remarkable meeting of the minds: comparable looks, similar hashkafos (anti Jewish genocidal aspirations), and similar end.

  12. As a Jewish woman, I believe Helen Thomas made a valid point when she said the ancestral homeland for many Jews is actually Germany and Poland. According to mitochondrial DNA studies, most of the Jewish females in Europe are apparently genetically descended from ancient European populations, not from Jewish women coming from the Middle East. The Holocaust made Jews afraid to live in Europe, so they moved to the Middle East, displacing Palestinian populations. I understand Jews needing a homeland to protect themselves, but it seems the burden has fallen unfairly on the Palestinians. Maybe the Germans need to make reparations to Palestinians who were displaced by Jews fleeing the Holocaust.

  13. To #7, no, the outcry would not be deafening if she said something like this about Moslems. They would have long since issued a fatwa that she has to die. Or maybe, better, just exploded a few terrorist bombs by now.

  14. Dear #25:

As a Jewish woman, I feel I must correct you on your history.
The ANCESTRAL homeland of the Jewish people is the Land of Israel. That is where ALL of our ancestors came from. They were displaced close to 2000 years ago by the Romans, and then made their way to a host of different lands. Due to displacement by, among others, the Crusaders, Jews made their way to other locations like Spain and Portugal. After their displacement from the Iberian Peninsula, many Jews found their homes in Eastern and Western Europe. We were displaced a few times throughout the European continent until we were completely displaced by the Holocaust, whereafter we moved ourselves to, among other places, our ancestral homeland, the Land of Israel.

Incidentally, throughout our long history, the Jewish people has never displaced anyone. The Palestinian refugee problem was created by Arabs living in the Land of Israel who fled in the wake of the war in 1948. They fled to other Arab lands who refused to accomodate them and instead displaced them into refugee camps where they remained. Any removal of Arabs from their homes – if it ever happened – was done solely in self-defense, as Arab guerillas used civilian areas to carry out suicide and other missions against Jews.

Actually, it could be that the only time Jews displaced anyone was when the Jews living in the Gaza Strip were displaced, in the hope of maintaining peace with the Palestinians living there.

    What a mistake.

  15. #25, Your ignorance is rediculous.
The Jews did not displace any Palestinians. They came to Israel to live in a land, no different than Jews coming to live in the U.S.A. (ignoring rashi on the first possuk in the Torah, that the Torah could’ve started with hachodesh hazeh lachem, but Hashem wanted to show us that He made the world and He have us the land),
Did the Jews coming to America displace the Americans living there? Of course not.
The Jews came to live in Israel, without kicking anyone out of anywhere. There was no government there. When the U.N. allowed Israel to form a government, the lawless arabs living there had a problem with that. They didn’t replace anyone. Actually the arabs started attacking the Jews (and dont say that it was the introduction of the state that caused the arabs to hate Jews. The Hebron massacre was in 1929, 60 jews were clawed to death by a crazed arab mob. There was also a muslim batalion in the nazi army)
Also to say that the holocaust made Jews afraid to live in Europe, is a complete lack of respect to 6 million Jews killed there. I dont know if your family was affected by the nazis but my family was. Every country in europe that was overun by the germans participated in the genocide. That includes Lithuania, Poland. Hungary and more.
How sickening that a person in a strong position in the office that is supposed to be the most caring moral people, should say that Jews should return to the blood soaked land of their ancestors. I’m disgusted. Absolutely disgusted.
