guantanamo-bayThe D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals denied an application for a temporary injunction against force-feeding prisoners at Guantanamo Bay who are on hunger strike.

In a decision issued today, the court said issuing  a temporary halt to the procedure, which has been likened to torture, would cause the petitioners to “very well die before” a final decision by the courts was reached.

“Given that the risk of error is greater if a preliminary injunction is granted than if it is denied, we conclude…that the balance of equities and public interest support denying petitioners’ request for interim relief.” Read more at D.C. Court of Appeals.
