Credit Card Signing to End in 2015

credit-cardsNo one wants your autograph anymore. MasterCard and Visa have announced that they’ll be phasing out the swipe-and-sign credit card practice by late next year. Instead, customers will enter a PIN number.

The U.S. is home to around one quarter of all credit-card transactions but half the world’s credit card fraud, due in part to the signing system. Read more at The Wall Street Journal.

  1. When will you cut up your credit cards and admit that it only causes you stress and gets you into trouble?

    run a honest life without credit cards by only getting what you need versus what you want. By using cash or pay by a debit card which might make you feel better cause it’s still a card

  2. The US is so far behind the rest of the world with this. Chip & Pin has been around in Europe for more than a decade and the Far East is moving to pay by phone as the norm.

  3. Because we have something called “tuition” that has to be paid every month for every child whether you can afford it or not! That is why we MUST have credit cards.
