Cruz: ‘Imagine’ Me as President

ted-cruz1Before a packed, excited auditorium at Virginia’s Liberty University, Sen. Ted Cruz announced his bid for the Republican presidential nomination Monday.

In a speech that covered broad strokes and traditional talking points, Cruz asked listeners to “imagine” an America powered by evangelical Christian values and a prosperous economy.

Speaking on the fifth anniversary of President Obama signing his signature health-care act into law, Cruz vowed to repeal the legislation completely. He also pledged to stand “unapologetically” with Israel, attempting to draw a stark contrast between himself and Obama as he became the first presidential candidate to formally announce in the 2016 election. Read more.
