Monsey mispallelim were treated to a surprise this morning as they generously filled the tzedaka collection pans customarily put out on Taanis Esther. Among the usual pans collecting for the poor and needy was a pan from Monsey’s local utility company. The appeal came “b’hamlatzas feter Cucumber,” with the approval of good ole Uncle Cucumber.
Huh??
A look into the pan explains everything. “They don’t need your money. Switch to Cucumber and support kiruv.”
It’s the ideal proposition. Use Cucumber, a division of Oorah, for your gas, electric and telephone needs: with their great rates, you’ll save money and know that every penny is supporting kiruv rechokim and helping to bring unaffiliated Jews back to the fold. What better Purim treat?
