[Updates below.] 4:01 p.m. EST/11:01 p.m. IL, Just In: If you’ve tried to access your Gmail account within the past few minutes, you are probably aware by now that Google Mail is having some problems. Matzav.com has learned that Gmail’s monitoring systems have alerted them that the majority of Gmail consumer and businesses accounts worldwide are having problems accessing their email.
Gmail says that they are working very hard to solve the problem and have apologized for the inconvenience. A small number of users in the US and UK have enabled Gmail offline through Gmail Labs and can access their inbox that way, though they are unable to send or receive emails.
Matzav.com will provide an update as Gmail makes progress correcting the problem.
Update – 4:14 p.m. EST, 11:14 p.m. IL: The Google team is continuing to investigate the issue. They will hopefully provide an update shortly and thank everyone for their patience.
