A Danish anti-circumcision group has collected 50,000 signatures, sufficient to force parliament to debate a bill that would limit milah to people age 18 years or older.
A poll conducted by Danish TV2 found that 83% of respondents supported the idea. The bill is unlikely to pass because it has no support from Denmark’s major political parties.
Iceland recently dropped a proposal to ban circumcision for minors.
