aryeh-deri1Recently-resigned Shas chairman Aryeh Deri was in the north of the country with his wife on Thursday, but he delivered a message via telephone to his supporters in the protest tent adjacent to his home in Yerushalayim.

“Your cry reaches the north,” said Deri. “I love you all and promise you: I didn’t forget what Maran (Rav Ovadiah Yosef) said before he passed away in the hospital: ‘Aryeh, I ask that you continue to take care of the children of the poor and the needy.

Deri added, “We will all continue together, I’m with you.”

He also asking the yeshiva bochurim outside his home to return to their yeshivos and not remain out in the cold. “I request that tonight you close the tent and return to the yeshivos to learn Torah.”

  1. Best would be if they can all come together! There was a time that Shas had 17 seats in the Knesset! What power that along with all the religious parties together would yield. THAT WOULD THE BEST APPEASEMENT POSSIBLE!!

  2. Last week We had a tragic week . What happened with Shas is a tragedy for the entire Am Yisroel. Its a huge Chilul Hashem and Am Yisroel might have to pay for it in one way or another. Hashem must have had pity on Rav Ovadya zt”l and at least when he was in this world he didn’t have to witness it.

Its not only a tragedy for the members of Shas. It will affect all the Frum Yidden because Shas is no different than all political religious parties and therefore what’s happening with them is similar to all other parties in Knesset. It shows what they are really about, and that is: being busy fighting with one another.
