One of the nation’s leading liberal minds is convinced Israel will do what it has to do to survive, suggesting the country may act on its own and attack Iran, despite President Obama’s nuclear deal, WORLD NET DAILY reports.

Former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowtiz told WND, “I have to tell you, if (Israeli Prime Minister) Benjamin Netanyahu learns through credible intelligence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, he will not allow that to happen.”

Dershowitz is a Democrat and generally a supporter of Obama, but the professor divided sharply with the president over his nuclear deal with Iran.

“I don’t think it’s a good deal,” said Dershowitz. “I wish they had been more transparent. I wish it had gone before Congress as a treaty. But the administration chose to make it an executive order.”

The famous constitutional scholar and defender of Israel was in Washington to accept a prestigious award, honored as a “Speaker of Truth” by the pro-Israel organization EMET last week.

He concluded, “I am disappointed in the Obama administration’s overall approach to Israel. My disappointment is primarily a function of the Iran deal.”

  1. Good thing your not in the loop, Alan, when it comes to Israel’s strategic planning. I expect you’ll be surprised at Israel’s response when the balloon goes up.

  2. either way, i have a question for you, mr dershowitz: if you don’t know what you’re talking about, then why are you spreading something around without factual knowledge? and on the flip side, if you do know what you’re talking about, of what value is there on giving the iranians a heads up on it? why reveal all our cards?

  3. Dershowitz is a lanker and a lonker. He is too keen on the law yet not keen on Torah. The combination makes a civil servant that is not given the likely highest insight from days of davening and prayer. So trim his mood. He is not that worried about Israel being Torah strong and he is not that worthwhile about thinking that he can predict Hashem’s course in history.

Still, heed his mood. He might be right. But on the other hand, who trusts prophetic predictions of fear of G-d from a man who can not even cover his head, wear tzitzits and have a beard. I can not think I can take this guy seriously at all.

Willing fun for his great career. I still hope that a Rabbi will guide us stronger than legal-eagle sharp image.

Time sees we need right hope in our faith. Not specialists with special humor.

    Its sick.
