A speeding car jumped a curb and injured several people in New York’s Times Square on Thursday afternoon.
FDNY reported 13 injured, with four in critical condition. One person has been pronounced dead.
Several buildings in the area were reportedly on lockdown as police swarmed the busy intersection, which is heavily populated with tourists.
A maroon sedan could be seen in multiple photos upended at the corner of 45th Street and Broadway.
The driver is in custody and the area has been sealed off, according to the New York Police Department. Eyewitness reports say the incident seemed to have been done purposely.
