Sarah Sperling, the kallah who was wounded in Sunday’s tragic crash on Highway 1, is still sedated in the ICU at Asaf Harofeh Medical Center.

Rav Avrohom Yitzchok Sperling, Sarah’s father, has asked people to continue davening for his 20-year-old daughter, who was injured while on Bus 402, which crashed into a truck at the side of the road, killing 6.

Dr. Yuval La’onov, director of the intensive care unit at Asaf Harofeh, said that the doctors at the hospital are laboring to save Sarah’s right hand via plastic reconstruction.

Sarah, a resident of Neve Yaakov, Yerushalayim, was slated to get married in three weeks to Yaakov Kastelenitz, a talmid of Yeshiva Kol Torah in Yerushalayim.

Yesterday, Dina Sperling, Sarah’s mother, said that the family visited Rav Chaim Kanievsky, “who told us not to postpone the wedding date. We have full emunas chachomim,” she said.

Sarah’s hand was badly injured and her leg was shattered, and doctors are doing their all.

“Life is a gift,” said Mrs. Sperling.

All are asked to keep davening for Sarah bas Dinah.

  1. Do you mean hand or do you mean arm? I was under the impression that her entire arm was at risk not just her hand. The terms hand and arm, despite their similar Hebrew and Yiddish translations, are not interchangeable or synonymous. The same goes for foot and leg. Please be more careful in the future.

One of my sons is in the same chabura as Sara bas Dina’s brother in law. As far as he knows, the name has not been changed. It’s still Sara bas Dina and her condition is improving, B’H, although she’s not out of the woods yet.
