Dov Lipman: I’ll Create Thousands Of Jobs For Charedim

43

dov-lipmanSuperman is back. And this time, in addition to saving chareidim from themselves, he will also be getting them jobs.

Yesh Atid’s Dov Lipman is working on programs that he says will help thousands of chareidim enter the work force.

Lipman discussed his efforts in an interview at the Knesset on Monday following the conclusion of his first session as an MK. Lipman formed a special Knesset caucus on assisting charedi entry into the work force. In that capacity, he helped persuade Alljobs, the top online employment agency in Israel, to start a charedi division. Read more here.

  1. “I know what’s best for you more than you do”
When Bloomberg says it about sugary drinks, the world goes up in arms.
When Lipman says it about Chareidim, every non-chareidi applauds.

    Very much a double-standard

  2. Why your sarcasm? The present system does not work for many charedim and consigns them to long term poverty.

I do not see him as a destroyer of yiddishkeit and perhaps if we gave him a chance and actually worked with him instead of fighting and ridiculing him, he will actually achieve something.

  3. Why the sarcasm?

We in the USA (& other English speaking countries), mostly work and learn on the side. and wile we do have places like lakewood, even there their are a considerable number of frum bali batem that work and learn in thier free time at night and on days off.

All Dov is trying to do is give a charadi in Israel the opportunity to be a american charadi. To work and learn support a family.

We here have choices lakewood full time or yeshiva by day and Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU)at night (even in Lakewood). In Israel there is no such choice.

Doing something because it is the only option available does not show true conviction.

We have a choice why can’t they?

I know that you won’t publish this comment (you publish nothing that I write and engage in censorship of any cogent criticism of the chareidi “party-line” that leaves you looking foolish). In the case of this article your sarcasm is truly pathetic. Rabbi MK Lipman is working to have a positive impact on the problems in Chareidi society and you continue to ridicule him. It’s Rosh Chodesh Elul and you are all going to be answerable for your campaign of contempt for an erliche yid. Rabbi MK Lipman is attempting to accomplish great things for Klal Yisrael; you at Matzav accomplish just about nothing.

  7. Read the whole article!

The guy is a hard worker, and “fun unzereh”, regardless of what you believe of many of his views.

BTW, he’s not “back”. He’s been talking and working on Chareidi employment from the beginning. Maybe you have to be willing to listen…

  9. “Superman is back” this article should be in the Opinion section, not in the News. Not to mention that ridiculing language like that probably has no place in a frum article, Opinion or News.

  10. we finally have someone who cares about financial situation of chareidim and you jokingly call him superman? your giving me a big reason why NOT to log onto matzav.com

  11. Print the whole article from the Jerusalem Post you would have shown your readers the numerous programs that he specifically describes that will indeed help thousands of people who want to work overcome discrimination by non frum employers. The problem he is addressing is that after they have taken the courses, there is prejudice against hiring them. By ignoring anything good he might do and calling him “superman” to make him sound useless, you don’t aid truth ,justice or the American way.

  12. Instead of mocking him, read the article. It appears that he is working to create jobs and fairness in hiring for Chareidim. I know you may not like his stance on the current issues but that doesn’t mean he should be mocked for his efforts in security important jobs for Chareidim.

  13. I think this is actually pretty good.
And what is with the author’s snide “superman” remark? Be professional – just report!

  14. Do you desire to know what The Chofetz Chaim said about people that tried to make others even the slightest less religious..

Or that the Chofetz Chaim would call the Maskil (Adam.S)who tried to influence him in his youth with ‘Yimach Shmo’..

  16. #5 ,#10

    Grow Up

Former friends of his describe him as he was back in the states ( less than a short decade ago),in unflattering terms

    #13,#17,etc.

The reason Chareidim are under stronger attack is precisely BECAUSE they are integrating in greater numbers, and thereby the fear is that thereby
their impact on the country will be greater.

    Hush,Hush

But the gullible(most people) will/need to be told the opposite..

    There is money galore
(as a friend’s wife who is involved in training program was told:To influence
    chareidi society ‘we’re loaded’.)

The situation will be remedied easily and better without him and his kind

But you most probably are fully aware of all this ..

How about his buddy Piron who was getting paid $145,000 annually(..could have supported 12 families) from ’07 by the New Israel Fund(pocket change) to develop and feed the media stories
    ridiculing and damaging chareidim

The ‘anti zionist’ New Israel Fund was paying ‘zionist’Piron
to wound the ‘anti zionist’ chareidim

  17. If only there would be as many comments when Matzav posts their weekly Dvar Torah portion, sadly those garner no comments. Yet controvesy garners the most. Shows what a sad state of affairs we are in,

  18. to torahis1 are u orthodox? Every time something comes up u stick up for the side that is less ultra orthodox. I remember your comments on a article of Rabbi Lipschutzs on this site and u stuck up for the other side.
