mehlman-slash-carsBrooklyn, NY – Dozens of cars had their tires slashed overnight in the Madison area of Flatbush and has the local community on edge.

FJCC Chairman Josh Mehlman said, “This is more than just an inconvenience or petty vandalism, there is significant financial damage as well as a terrible sense of lost security.

Councilman Chaim Deutsch stated that this is extremely disturbing, and he is working closely with detectives as they are working thru the many videos of the area. Police commanders assured community leaders that at this point all signs indicate that the tire slashings are not a bias incident, and anyone with information or experienced vandalism should call the 61 Pct. detective squad at 718-627-6620.

Mr. Mehlman expressed appreciation to Councilman Chaim Deutsch, Pinny Ringel of the Mayors office, Flatbush Shomrim, NYPD Brooklyn South Detectives and Patrol, and the 61st Police precinct for responding quickly, actively pursuing this very troubling incident, and working with the community to provide increased protection. The Flatbush Community Coalition (FJCC) is offering a $2500 award for any leads that help find and convict the perpetrators.
