Drunk Off-Duty NYPD Cop Plows Onto Brooklyn Sidewalk, Killing One

Police say one person has been killed after an off-duty police officer’s SUV struck four pedestrians in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, CBS reports.

Authorities say 28-year-old Nicholas Batka lost control of his vehicle on Bedford Avenue and it mounted the sidewalk, striking four pedestrians.

Batka was arrested on charges including manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. Read more at CBS.

  1. That’s what happens when some have more legal privileges than others. Obviously this cop has been driving drunk on regular basis, yet was never stopped by fellow cops nor would have never been charged by a friendly prosecutor had he not created a loud killing case. Why is he not charged with a second degree murder – perhaps getting completely drunk behind the wheel is equal to intent. Watch the prosecution “accidentally” mishandle even the manslaughter case, resulting in acquittal or a slap on the wrist. The fact is that the government workers and politicians are not subjected to the same laws as you and I. BLM only helps to preserve the status quo by shifting the focus to the race.
