Economy Has Best Stretch Since 1997

U.S. employers added 257,000 jobs in January, capping off the best three months of consecutive employment growth in 17 years. December’s job gains were revised up to 329,000 and November to a whopping 423,000.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report Friday, the unemployment rate rose to 5.7 percent as more people started looking for work again.

Best of all, average hourly earnings went up by 0.5 percent in one month, the most since November 2008. Read more at Bloomberg.
