Egypt Death Toll Now Over 600

The Muslim Brotherhood called for supporters of deposed Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi to take to the streets Thursday after the military-controlled government’s barbaric attack on protesters the day before.

Meanwhile, the death toll continues to rise: the Egyptian health ministry says over 600 people were killed and nearly 4,500 injured. One mosque where Morsi supporters had gathered, became the site of more than 200 casualties. The crackdown was expected, but its scale and brutality-12 hours of bulldozers, tanks, tear gas and live gunfire-shocked both Morsi supporters and governments around the world. Read more at The New York Times.
