El Al Israel Airlines Transports 79 Tons Of Medical Equipment To Japan To Aid The Earthquake And Tsunami Relief Efforts

EL AL Israel Airlines recently carried 79 tons of medical supplies to Narita, Japan on a 747-400 freighter aircraft. The special nonstop flight was organized by the Israel Ministry of Defense to assist victims of the horrific earthquake and tsunami that took place last month. The Japanese government and citizens have expressed tremendous gratitude to the Israelis for their support.

As the national airline of Israel, EL AL has a proud history of providing humanitarian assistance during times of need. This latest effort is another example of how both the Israeli government and EL AL assist victims of tragedies, which in the past have included the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami relief efforts in Indonesia, the rescue mission during the war between Georgia and Russia as well as the volcanic ash crisis in Europe.
