Engagement of Grandchildren of Rav Chaim Dov Keller, Rav Chaim Ozer Gorelick and Rav Yitzchok Sorotzkin

Last night, the vort celebrating the engagement of grandchildren of Rav Chaim Dov Keller, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Telshe Chicago, and Rav Yitzchok Sorotzkin, rosh yeshiva of Mesivta of Lakewood, was celebrated.

The chosson, Eliezer Keller, is a son of Rav Shmuel Yeshaya Keller, R”M at Yeshivas Telshe Chicago. Rav Shmuel Yeshaya is a son of Rav Chaim Dov Keller and a son-in-law of Rav Leib Lopian zt”l, the late Gateshead rosh yeshiva.

The kallah, Sima Yehudis Sorotzkin, is a daughter of Rav Shimon Sorotzkin, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah of Bayswater. Rav Shimon is a son of Rav Yitzchok Sorotzkin and a son-in-law of Rav Chaim Ozer Gorelick, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah of Spring Valley.

The chosson is a great-grandson of Rav Leizer Levin zt”l, longtime rov of Detroit, and the famed mashgiach, Rav Elya Lopian zt”l.

The kallah is a great-granddaughter of Rav Boruch Sorotzkin zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Telshe Cleveland; Rav Yeruchem Gorelick zt”l, rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva Rabbeinu Yitzchok Elchonon; and Rav Yechezkel Grubner zt”l, head of the Vaad Harabbonim of Detroit.

This shidduch brings together two of the illustrious Torah families of the yeshiva world.

  1. How about a word about the Chosson and Kallah ? Yichus is a bunch of zeroes behind a 1. Maybe the Choson and Kallah are doing something for Klal Yisroel that we can learn from ?
