In a letter that the Rebbe of Erlau zt”l, who passed away this morning, sent to Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt”l during Adar in 1989, the Rebbe shared that he had a dream and spoke to Rav Elyashiv during the dream.
The Rebbe recounted this in a letter to Rav Elyashiv, relating that he didn’t have time during the dream to ask Rav Elyashiv a certain question, so he was writing the question to Rav Elyashiv in the letter.
In the letter, the Rebbe calls Rav Elyashiv “yedid nafshi.”
In the dream, “I began to ask a difficult question from Maseches Beitzah, 3b, but then I awoke,” wrote the Rebbe.
In the letter, the Rebbe proceeded to ask his question about muktzah being treated stringently like Biblical prohibition.
