Erev Pesach? Storm Hitting Tri-State With Heavy Bands Of Snow March 24, 2013  8:04 am

snowJust when you thought spring was truly here and with the arrival of the week of Pesach, a storm will present a cold dose of reality. After a gorgeous day on Shabbos, the tri-state braces itself for a “winter” spring storm. Light rain will move in, mixing with a few snowflakes.

A light rain/snow mix will continue off and on throughout the day today, with minimal snow accumulation.

Winds will pick up out of the northeast 15-20 mph, putting an extra bite in the already chilly air.

Highs today will remain steady in the low to mid 30s.

Tonight, rain showers will transition to snow, becoming heavy at times. It’s overnight tonight into early Monday that one can anticipate the most snow accumulation.

Snow showers will continue through Monday morning, Erev Pesach, before tapering off early tomorrow evening. The heaviest accumulation will fall along a line northwest of I-71.

Working southeast, expect less accumulation. Generally, in the “warning” counties you can see 4-8″+. In the “advisory” counties, you’ll 1-3″.

By Monday morning, accumulations will range from near nothing southeast to in excess of 6″ northwest. There may even be isolated pockets of 8-10 inches the further northwest you go.
