Tuesday evening, Rav Ovadiah Yosef chose his Daled Minim for the upcoming Yom Tov of Sukkos, selecting an esrog from the Esrogei Ha’avos orchard in southern Israel. The esrogim from that particular pardes are Teimani and are known to be mehudarim, under the supervision of the Badatz Bais Yosef.
The Daled Minim experts discussed with Chacham Ovadiah the fact that many of the esrog orchards in Eretz Yisroel were severely damaged following last winter’s cold weather, in addition to a severe virus that affected thousands of trees that produced poor quality esrogim.
Rav Yosef also examined hadassim and lulavim that were brought to him and wished bracha and hatzlacha to the operators of Esrogei Ha’avos.

Again, this is another FARCE to raise the prices on Arba Minim – above and beyond “Ripp Off”/Gineiva status!!!
Another baloney story about esrogim shortages put out by the esrogim dealers. We hear them every year. They are told every year in order to scare people into paying more.
Why Matzav bothers to print them is beyond me. By repeating these annual baloney stories you are only helping the cheaters to cheat.
There is a very good reason why chazal say that erogim dealers are posul for eidus (until chanuka).
