ambassador-yoram-etingerFormer Israeli representative in Washington, Ambassador Yoram Etinger, is very happy about the decision by U.S. President Barack Obama to visit Israel, which he sees as “a warning to Iran,” reports Arutz Sheva.

Etinger said that, “In the current regional and global situation, the Middle East that can be perceived amid the upheavals on the Arab street is a dangerous one. Egypt, which was a U.S. ally, is no longer so, Syria is in a process of disintegration that could spill over into Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and the dangers are numerous.”

Israel, said Etinger, is turning out to be the most stable country in the region. “The U.S. has no more stable ally than Israel. Obama understands that time is gradually running out with regard to Iran,” he told Arutz Sheva. adding that he sees the visit as profoundly important. “There is a determined and clear statement by Obama here, that he will not let Iran go nuclear. And that he will continue to defend all of the U.S.’s allies This is a positive signal to moderate elements in the Arab world and a deterrent message to extremists.”
