Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, who lost his post earlier this month, voted against the government in Wednesday’s austerity bill vote.
The country’s parliament approved the bill, which will hike up taxes and cut spending as part of Greece’s bailout plan.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has said he had no choice but to accept the terms. “We had a very specific choice: A deal we largely disagreed with, or a chaotic default,” he told parliament. Read more.
